ATTENTION:- TAXABLE PERSONS, ADVOCATES, CHARTED ACCOUNTANTS, COST ACCOUNTANTS.
The Punjab Government has recently amended Rule 37 of the Punjab VAT Rules 2005 w.e.f. 20.6.2011. A new challan form VAT-2B has been introduced. It has been made mandatory that 20% of the additional tax (surcharge) payable u/s 8B of the Punjab VAT Act, 2005 shall be made in this new Challan form VAT-2B, which shall be directly credited into the account of “Punjab Municipal Infrastructure Development Fund.”
For smooth collection of this fund, the department in consultation with the department of Urban Local Bodies has nominated seven designated banks, where this additional tax of 20% (Surcharge) on account of “Punjab Municipal Infrastructure Development Fund” can be deposited. The details of the designated/nominated banks are as follows:-
