VAT on Aviation Fuel sold at Amritsar Airport reduced in Punjab to 5.5%

VAT on Aviation Fuel when sold at Amritsar Airport has been reduced by Punjab Government to 5.5%(including surcharge). However Aviation fuel sold at some other places remains to be taxable @ 20%.

Relevant notification is as follows:

NOTIFICATION

No. .- Whereas the State Government is satisfied that circumstances exists, which render it necessary to take immediate action in public interest.
Now, therefore, in exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (3) of Section 8 of the Punjab Value Added Tax Act, 2005 (Punjab Act No. 8 of 2005), and all other powers enabling him in the behalf, the Governor of Punjab is pleased to make the following amendment with immediate effect in Schedules 'B' and 'D', appended to the said Act, by dispensing with the condition of previous notice, as the same are required to be made immediately in public interest, namely:-

AMENDMENT
1. In the said Schedule 'B', after serial No. 162, and the entries relating thereto, the following serial No. and entries relating thereto shall be added, namely:-

"163. Aviation Turbine Fuel when, sold at Amritsar International Airport to scheduled airlines carrying passengers."

2. In the said Schedule 'D' for serial No. 1 and the entries relating thereto, the following serial No. and entries relating thereto shall be substituted, namely:-

"1. Aviation Turbine Fuel
except when, sold at Amritsar International Airport to scheduled airlines carrying passengers."
